I love night fishing.

It used to be because I couldn’t get out to fish as much during the day cause of work and all. But now it’s more than just convenience.

I think I get better results fishing at night. I think the fishing conditions are even better at night than during the day cause there is less competition for a good spot and less noise as well. Also, just like you and me, it’s dinnertime for the fish too!

Another reason to love night fishing is fish look for food at night using “sense” rather than sight. So always keep your bait moving. They will strike it hard.

It also seems like if I found a good spot during the day, when I come back at night I catch even more fish. I don’t know why, it just seems like they bite better in the evening.

One issue with fishing at night is it’s harder to see you line, but catching more fish makes it totally worth that little inconvenience.

Lately I have seen more and more fellow fishermen out there with me at night. I ask a couple of them why and they said pretty much the same thing I did. They catch more fish at night and it makes them look good!

If you would like to try night fishing, I say go for it. Be sure to check the weather forecast first though.

Bad weather can make it a little more dangerous. You are already having issues with finding things in the dark and making your way around safely. You would be surprised at the number of anglers who forget this simple rule.

Here’s my number one tip to make your night fishing even better.

Watch the moon!

Call me crazy, but just try it and see for yourself. You just might learn something.

You will probably notice that most fish hide in the shadows during a full moon. Don’t ask me why cause I couldn’t tell you, but me and my night fishing buddies have all observed the same thing. So when you see shadows on the water, that’s where you’ll want to cast your line.

If there are no shadows and the moon isn’t shining down on the water, finding the fish will be a bit harder. That doesn’t mean your great night fishing expedition has to be over by any means though. Fish are most likely to bite when the moon is NOT full or if it’s partially hidden by clouds.

So now you’ll know how to determine which fishing spot will be more likely to get you better results. If the moon is shining full and bright, go for the shadows in the water.

If it’s hidden or even nowhere to be seen, just go to your favorite fishing spot and expect lots of hits on the line. A lot of anglers say they will only fish during a full moon, while others say no moon is best for night fishing.

My best advice to you is to go out and try both. See which way nets you the best results. Like we need another reason to get out there and fish, right?

You should get good results, whether it’s a full moon or not. Just remember to watch the moon and adjust your personal fishing technique. Change your fishing spots depending on how the moon is shining during the night.

I guess it also helps that I have sort of a “secret weapon” for catching more fish. Would you like to hear about it?  Go  here  and check it out or click on the banner below for more information!
